The Wall Street Journal Sunday, an original weekly package of articles and information focused on personal finance and careers, started being published as branded pages in major metropolitan Sunday newspapers on Sept. 12, 1999.

The Sunday Journal initially appeared in 10 newspapers across the U.S., including the Denver Post and The Star Tribune of Minneapolis-St. Paul, with a total circulation of about 4.3 million. Today, it has grown to 82 newspapers with total circulation that has more than doubled and now stands at 9.1 million.

A dedicated staff at The Wall Street Journal supplies the editorial package for the news product, and the participating newspapers pay Dow Jones a fee for this news. Advertising revenue is shared by Dow Jones and the participating newspapers.
